Host multi-agency communications training

Primary tabs

Owning/Managing Organization: Tennessee Emergency Management Association (TEMA), Office of Emergency Communications (OEC), or Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO)

Program Description: Collaborate with emergency responders from across Tennessee by hosting regional communications training sessions at your agency. Reach new communications standards by streamlining your response efforts across counties and jurisdictions. TEMA, OEC and APCO offer incident management and incident command training at all levels to ensure responders are safe and efficient when responding to calls. Many classes can be completed online while others are delivered through live seminars.

Objectives of Program: First responders will have access to FirstNet's fast, reliable broadband network that allows for instant communication with public safety workers across the US. Currently, only 60 percent of Tennessee's 50,000 emergency responders actively use TACN's interoperable land mobile radio system. TACN FirstNet wants every public safety professional in Tennessee to not only adopt existing technologies but prepare for the future of advanced communications.

How to Participate:
Contact statewide interoperability coordinator Gerald Risner (TACN) or deputy statewide interoperability coordinator Mike Harris (TEMA) to request a training session.
