Host a local mock emergency

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Host a local "mock" emergency situation, like a tornado or house fire, for a public audience. Respond by communicating with fellow personnel in your jurisdiction using FirstNet-ready devices. Invite the public to attend your event.

Host a regional mock emergency

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Coordinate with public safety organizations in nearby districts to host a multi-agency "mock" emergency situation, like a tornado, for a public audience. Respond by communicating with participating responders from multiple jurisdictions using FirstNet-approved devices. Invite the public to attend and request public safety advocate groups to table at your event.

Stream UAV video

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Capture video of a community event or an emergency situation, like a wildfire or search & rescue operation, using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Share the video with fellow responders using the Livestream app on your smart phone or tablet.

Connect with an outside responder using LTE or broadband technology

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Contact a responder from a different public safety organization using a portable radio. Or, use your smart phone to share text, video, image, or GPS data in real-time. Feel free to send selfies, XYZ coordinates of your current location, or a video of a tour around your station. If you already know how to share media, teach an outside responder to do so.

Learn to use a public safety application

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: TACN FirstNet wants all responders to use their hand-held device to do more than place calls and share photos. Public safety professionals should understand how to access and utilize data to respond to calls quickly and efficiently. Use a public safety application to learn more about an emergency situation. For example, locate a crime scene using Google Maps or report theft using Rejjee TSP.

Contact a responder in your field using broadband technology

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Experiment with FirstNet communication technologies by sending a sample text, video, image, or GPS data in real-time to a responder outside of your jurisdiction. Feel free to send selfies, XYZ coordinates of your current location, or a video of a tour around your station.

Use social media as a public safety tool

Owning/Managing Organization: TACN FirstNet

Program Description: Use a social media platform, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Livestream, to share a photo or video of an event in your community or a planned response call.
